Service is at the heart of our recovery. By volunteering in a service role, we not only help keep our groups healthy and connected, but we also nurture our own growth.
There are many ways to serve and support your home group whether in person or on Zoom by leading or doing the main share at a meeting. Some meetings are in need of a Group Service Rep. You can serve as a newcomer rep for a specific meeting for a period of one month ensuring that newcomers are given the same warm welcome we received as newcomers. Please speak with the Group Service Rep of the meeting you would like to do service at for further information on these opportunities.
There are a number of ways to serve at the Intergroup level. Each role, big or small, helps ensure that meetings remain available and welcoming to those who seek recovery. If you’re interested seeing what the current open service roles are for Intergroup contact us.
S-Anon UK Intergroup is the cooperation of representatives from S-Anon groups in the UK. The Intergroup’s primary function is to coordinate information and activities. Intergroup is not a governing body; it exists to assist groups in their common purpose of carrying the S-Anon message.
As our Seventh Tradition says ‘every group ought to be fully self-supporting.’ The existence of our fellowship depends on our own voluntary contributions – both offers of service work and financial contributions. Each meeting (Zoom or in person) passes around a (virtual) hat for voluntary contributions.
Every little helps and is gratefully received.
We use this money to buy our stocks of literature, to pay deposits for recovery day and convention venues, to pay for the website and Zoom subscription, professional fees for meeting the requirements for a CIC, as well as a donation to the World Service Office.
